150+ Volunteers at Evergreen Cemetery work day!

Yesterday was a great day out at the cemetery.   The weather was perfect for the estimated 150 volunteers from the Meadowbrook Ward of the LDS Church.  Volunteers worked cleaning up trash and removing vegetation from overgrown plots.  WRIC 8, WTVR 6, and WWBT 12 all filmed the work day and covered it on the 6:00 news.

Several new gravestones were uncovered, and previously cleared areas were cleared of new vegetation.   It’s not called Evergreen Cemetery for no reason.  View the photo gallery here and be sure to join the Yahoo Friends and Family group to get info about upcoming work days.
