Thanks to the combined efforts of VCU, VUU, and members of the Meadowbrook Ward of the LDS Church, nearly 200 volunteers came out Saturday to enjoy some of the great weather and work to clear the cemetery.

Everyone worked hard to clear brush and weeds.  Some of the ladies of VCU gave the Ferguson Monument a deep cleaning and revealed even more of its elaborate design.  Fortunately the cooler weather meant it was less likely for our volunteers working in the afternoon didn’t have to worry about summer hazards like stinging insects and soon the poison ivy will be less of an issue, too!

It means so much to all of us that each of you took the time out of your weekend to volunteer and spend some time caring for and preserving the history that’s being uncovered at the cemetery.  Thanks again, and welcome to the Evergreen Cleanup Crew family!
